A34 Gates

We are a Burntwood-based removals company operating throughout Staffordshire, recently commissioned by A34 Gates and Garage Doors to manage the careful collection and transport of bespoke timber joinery. The assignment involved moving a premium Accoya installation from Penkridge through to Cannock, with the final delivery supporting a residential project featuring high-end estate driveway gates designed for both security and aesthetic impact.

The project began with a coordinated planning stage between our logistics team and the client’s installation schedule. Estate-style gates, particularly those manufactured from Accoya wood, require specialist handling due to their size, finish quality, and engineered stability. Even minor surface pressure or uneven weight distribution can affect alignment during installation, so careful preparation was essential from the outset. We assessed loading requirements, protective materials, and transport positioning to ensure the gate remained fully secure throughout the journey.

Collection took place at a workshop facility in Penkridge, a location that presents a blend of rural access routes and light industrial zones. Our team arrived with a purpose-equipped vehicle featuring padded side supports, anti-slip flooring, and adjustable restraint systems. Before loading, we carried out a joint inspection with the client to confirm condition and ensure all protective wrapping met specification standards. The gate was then lifted using controlled manual handling techniques, with all contact points shielded to prevent marking or compression damage.

Once secured within the vehicle, the gate was positioned flat and stabilised to eliminate movement during transit. This is particularly important when transporting long-span timber structures, as vibration or twisting forces can compromise structural integrity. We used layered protective blankets alongside reinforced straps to distribute pressure evenly, ensuring the finish remained pristine throughout the journey.

The route from Penkridge to Cannock was planned to avoid unnecessary disruption, taking into account peak traffic areas and narrower connecting roads. Our drivers maintained steady, controlled speeds to minimise vibration impact, particularly when navigating bends and uneven surfaces common in parts of rural Staffordshire. Communication between crew members allowed for continuous monitoring of load stability and journey progress.

Upon arrival in Cannock, the delivery site required careful access due to limited driveway clearance and ongoing landscaping work. Our team coordinated closely with site representatives to ensure safe unloading without disturbing surrounding structures or prepared groundwork. The gate was gently offloaded and positioned in its designated holding area, ready for installation alignment by the fitting team.

A final inspection confirmed that the gate remained in excellent condition, with no visible signs of stress, abrasion, or movement-related damage. The client was able to proceed immediately with installation preparation, demonstrating the importance of precise handling during transit.

Projects involving estate-level architectural features demand a combination of logistical planning, material awareness, and careful execution. Our experience working with trade partners such as A34 Gates and Garage Doors ensures that each movement is completed with consistency and reliability, particularly when handling high-value timber products like Accoya.
